At JEHS, we believe that education extends beyond academics. Our Student Support Services ensure that every student is supported — emotionally, socially, and academically — so they thrive in all aspects of life.
What Our Support Services Include
- Counselling (Personal, Group, Peer)
• One‑on‑one cttounselling to help students deal with stress, anxiety, peer or family issues, self‑esteem, and social/emotional well‑being.
• Group sessions or peer counselling for shared challenges (e.g. coping with examinations, adapting after transitions between grades).
• Workshops and classroom programmes on emotional health, conflict resolution, and building resilience. - Academic Support & Learning Guidance
• Help with study skills: time management, organisation, strategies for effective learning.
• Remedial or enrichment programmes for students who need help or wish to advance.
• Teacher‑student mentoring to set academic goals, monitor progress, and plan for improvement. - Career & Future Planning
• Career counselling: helping students explore options for higher education, vocational pathways, and aligning their strengths & interests with future opportunities.
• Aptitude assessments & guidance.
• Information sessions and workshops on college admission processes, scholarships, and competitive exam preparation. - Behavioural & Developmental Support
• Identifying learning difficulties or behavioural issues early.
• Collaboration between teachers, parents, and specialized professionals when needed.
• Support for personal development: improving interpersonal skills, fostering self‑awareness, decision‑making, and healthy peer relationships. - Crisis Intervention & Well‑being Initiatives
• Immediate support during personal crises (e.g. loss, trauma, emergencies).
• Safe space for students to talk and feel heard.
• Referrals to external counseling or mental health professionals when needed. - Parental & Community Involvement
• Regular communication with parents about student well‑being and progress.
• Workshops for parents on topics such as adolescent mental health, parenting strategies, and how to support children at home.
• Linking with local health services and community resources to extend support.
How We Deliver Support at JEHS
- Our school has counsellors who are trained professionals dedicated to student well‑being.
- Regularly scheduled counselling sessions (individual or group), plus open‑door times when students can reach out.
- Integration with teachers: teachers are trained to spot signs of distress, learning difficulties etc., and refer students appropriately.
- Confidentiality and trust: all services are carried out in a safe, respectful setting.
- Monitoring and feedback: we track each student’s progress and adjust support as needed.
